About Susan

I am a woman, an artist, a wife, a mother, a former public school educator now dedicated to teaching my own children. Art has always been a part of who I am, though my ventures into the art of ballet peaked at the age of 5. Piano and flute lessons fared a little better, but I still couldn't play "Chopsticks" if I had to. Thankfully my talents in other areas were more consistent, and I earned a Masters degree in painting and drawing, though by the time I reached my thesis show I had discovered my true love of photography and film. I learned photography the %u201Cold-fashioned way,%u201D in a darkroom, and while I%u2019ve graduated to faster technology (did I mention I have twin 3-yr-olds?), I have never lost the art of pausing to see the beauty in everything around me.

Other very important facts about me:

I have a bit of an obsession with brushing my teeth. (But it must be Crest ProHealth toothpaste in cinnamon, and I%u2019m still taking applications for the perfect toothbrush).

I am one of "those people" who considers my dog another child in the family.

I definitely believe in form over function- who cares if it works or not as long as it looks pretty?

I hate the word %u201Cmoist%u201D with a passion. Not only is the cake mix aisle at the grocery store a veritable mine field, I%u2019m pretty sure I%u2019ll never again be able to read this bio.

But more important than any of these, I truly believe that preserving the memory of your family as you are right now (not after you finish that project or your hair grows out or you've lost weight) is one of the greatest gifts you can give your children. Today is truly a gift, and I feel truly privileged to have the opportunity to capture those moments for my clients.
